Comtech Hardware

Based on technologically advanced components and innovative design, Comtech modems include application software to provide superior performance and features.

Modems with integrated IP module incorporate advanced features that maximize satellite link efficiency for IP networks. With optional, advanced features such as Header Compression, Payload Compression and Quality of Service (QoS), bandwidth optimization can be taken to a new level. This IP functionality is commonly deployed in offshore, satellite news gathering, enterprise, government and cellular backhaul installations.

CDM-570L Satellite Modem
The CDM‑570 and the CDM-570L are entry-level satellite modems that provide industry leading performance and flexibility in a 1 RU package at a very competitive price. It is the platform of choice for Network Operators, Enterprise users, Service Providers, Broadcasters and Government users for a wide range of applications – Cellular Backhaul over IP, Voice-over-IP (VoIP), LAN/WAN connectivity, Satellite News Gathering (SNG), Communication-on-the-Move, Maritime, Off-shore applications etc.The advanced FPGA-based architecture along with the internal Flash memory allows for easy field upgrades via the Ethernet port.

CDM-625 Advanced Satellite Modem

The CDM-625 Advanced Satellite Modem builds on Comtech EF Data’s legacy of providing the most efficient satellite modems. It is the first modem to combine advanced Forward Error Correction (FEC), such as Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes, with the revolutionary DoubleTalk® Carrier-in-Carrier® bandwidth compression allowing for maximum savings under all conditions.

This combination of advanced technologies enables multi-dimensional optimization, allowing satellite communications users to:
  • Minimize operating expenses (OPEX)
  • Maximize throughput without using additional transponder resources
  • Maximize availability (margin) without using additional transponder resources
  • Minimize capital expenses (CAPEX) by allowing a smaller BUC/HPA and/or antenna
  • Combination to meet specific business needs.
